Delete your AuPairSync account

Last updated: 27 August 2026

This page explains how to delete your AuPairSync account and exactly what happens to your data. It applies to the AuPairSync apps for Android and iOS and to aupairsync.com.

1. Delete your account in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

  1. Open AuPairSync and sign in.
  2. Go to More, then Settings, then Account.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first — this protects your account from someone else deleting it.

Deletion begins straight away and you are signed out. There is no undo.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you cannot sign in, or you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion by email. You do not need to install anything.

  1. Email privacy@aupairsync.com from the address on your account.
  2. Use the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
  3. Include the email address you signed up with, so we can identify the account.

We verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days, and confirm by email when it is done.

3. What is deleted

Deleting your account removes:

  • Your account and profile — email address, name, role and profile photo.
  • Content you created — messages, tasks, calendar events, shopping lists, expense claims, announcements and time-off requests.
  • Files you uploaded — photos and documents, including any stored securely.
  • Notifications and any queued emails addressed to you.

4. If you are the last parent in a family

Deleting the last parent account deletes the entire family workspace, not just your own record. That includes every child profile — names, dates of birth, schools, routines and health information such as allergies, medications and emergency contacts — along with all shared calendar events, tasks, shopping lists, expenses, house rules, guides and uploaded photos.

Any au pair linked to the family loses access to it. This cascade cannot be reversed, so please export anything you want to keep first.

5. If other members remain in the family

Your personal account, profile and uploaded files are deleted. Content you shared with the family — a message in a family chat, or an expense a parent has already approved — is anonymised rather than removed, so the remaining members' records stay intact. Your name is detached from it.

Remaining family members are notified that you have left.

6. What we keep, and for how long

  • Family data is deleted immediately, as described above.
  • Limited account records are kept for up to 30 days to handle abuse and meet legal obligations, then permanently erased.
  • Aggregated analytics that cannot identify you may be kept indefinitely.
